merry xmas/ happy hanukkah everyone!

i've been keeping myself fit over the break with ted

On Xmas eve

I watched calmly as my brother ate the last of my chicken nuggets

I wondered how my friends are spending their Xmas.

I imagined megan eating her xmas tree

Bryan with just his cute penguin oven mitten

mike with his persimmon, puppy, and his hobby

Charlie with spongebob and Justin!
(see you soon at ringling Justin)

Reece with his snowboards

I made the xmas card for next year too

Grad Ceremony

yesterday I went to a good friend's grad ceremony at his culinary school

met some cool chefs, some are French
they reminded me of the chefs in Ratatouille in many ways

I sat with the audience. The chefs and class reps were giving speeches on stage

Certificates were given out. Pictures were being taken. And more speeches were being said

The atmosphere was getting emotional. Some student chefs were tearing up. Families too.

I, being such an emotional person, was getting to that level too...

A girl went up there. And her mom was getting up to take photos for her and the chefs

I glanced at the mother. She was the coolest mom I've ever seen. Hair style unique and dyed in three shades in perfect gradient. Her scarf just so happened to be the one I'm about to buy tomorrow. Her bag is the kind my own mother doesn't have. Her camera was simply high notch. And finally, her glasses frames made me wish I needed glasses.

And I bet, if I had X-Ray vision. I would see the key to my dream car in her bag too.
She was cool

But then she tripped.

I frowned a little bit

But then I shrugged. No big deal. She was still pretty cool.
My own mother trips from time to time herself too. Also, I thin----

yea, she dropped the bomb right after that...

Did I mention we were in a big church? The words won't stop echoing...

All the  sad faces stared at her. They still had tears in their eyes though...

Then we all burst out laughing. This little incident made us forget about the emotional and sad atmosphere we were ALL having few seconds ago.

This mom is the coolest.

sophmore 1st semester is over! Here are some recently finished projects!

Final concept animatic. I was going for a darker story with this rather than the usual funny and light mood like many times before.

And last but not least, SIMPLE POLY!
His name is Tyler. He is a cool lil angler fish

This is me at Ringling. Usually exhausted with blood shot eyes but with a lot of time on my hands.

And this is me back in vancouver. Relaxing and being at peace with the world.

Oh and there's Ted's expression when I first see him today

Primitive Theatre and more animatics

This was a major CA project.
Even though it was a pain to model, rig, animate, texture and light everything, I've learned so much from this animation. Couldn't have done this without the help of my dearest friends. Thank you guys!

And more animatics from concept I

Battle Royale

Battle Royale

The other day I was hanging out with friends after class.
They had just finished a movie earlier, called Battle Royale.

Basically it was a Japanese movie in which everyone had to kill each other to survive. Only one person is allowed to survive at the end.

Megan: "hey Sharon have you watched Battle Royale before?"

Me: "Yeah. I saw it when I was in high school."

"But I didn't find the mass killing scary though. I thought some parts were really funny."

But then my friend suddenly turned and look at me seriously.
"Ummm, they were real actors who died. "

"Ha! Yeah right."
I have seen too much of real life to believe what she said.

"No seriously. The director casted actors who were depressed and wanted to commit suicide. He did this so the killing would look super realistic because they are in fact real."

I didn't buy anything she said.

But then there was this other girl who was there.
This was her face. She was hesitant to believe it.

Then my other friend Reece spoke up: "Seriously, all the actors you see on screen died during the shoot. Don't even joke about it."

The thing about my friend Reece, is that he is always joking around.

This is what his serious face usually looks like.

But that night when we were talking about Battle Royale. This is what his serious face looked like.

so I guess we can't really blame that girl for believing him.
Reece was dead serious.
And when he is serious, he is serious.

finally megan said "Search up 'The movie where all the actors died'. There is a documentary somewhere online."

"Okay. I am googling it."

so that girl spent 10 minutes searching for the documentary

on Google

and even wikipedia.

This was her face.

We had a good laugh at her.

Seriously, The movie where all the actors died?

who would believe that?
